Abstract
This study determined the extent of awareness and knowledge of the whistle-blowing policy of Buhari administration. It identified the importance of public opinion in the formation and implementation of public policies; ascertained if there is a connection between public opinion and the formulation of the whistle-blowing policy of the Muhammadu Buhari administration; and also identified the ways that public opinion and support can further be explored to enhance the whistle-blowing policy in Nigeria. The study made use of primary and secondary sources of data.Primary data were gotten through the administration of questionnaire on key respondents. A total number of 192 respondents were drawn from Civil Society Organizations, Academicians, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and selected members of the leading political parties. Datagatheredwasanalysedusingsimplepercentages.The study found that though, the public are aware about the whistle- blowing policy of Buhari administration, majority are not aware of the whistle-blower Protection Act.
