A Critical Exposition of Aristotle’s Legacies in Sociopolitical Philosophy

Abstract

Aristotle is a great philosopher of the ancient period in Western Philosophy. His works and contributions to philosophy, education and civilization, span through all fields of learning. His relevance in his age and subsequent years has not waned, even in our own generation. The thrust of this paper is to expose Aristotle's contributions and legacies, particularly in the areas of sociopolitical philosophizing. In so doing, we shall be applying the methods of analysis by scooping materials from his works, critically analyzing them vis-à-vis other scholars contributions and then augmenting the areas we feel need fine and proper approaches. It is hoped that this would contribute to knowledge by beefing up literature in the field and assisting budding scholars in understanding this sagacious sage of antiquity.
